Senior Accountant – Business Services & Advisory

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Senior Accountant to join our Business Services & Advisory team in Doncaster East. You will manage a diverse portfolio of SME, trust, partnership and high‑net‑worth clients, delivering high‑quality accounting, tax and advisory services while supporting junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of business and individual clients across multiple industries.
• Prepare and review financial statements, tax returns, BAS, IAS and other compliance obligations.
• Provide tax planning, cash‑flow management, budgeting and performance insights.
• Support advisory projects such as business structuring, forecasting and growth strategies.
• Review and mentor work completed by junior accountants.
• Utilise cloud‑based accounting platforms including Xero and MYOB.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance client outcomes.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• CPA or CA qualification (or near completion).
• 2‑3 years of experience in public practice accounting.
• Strong knowledge of Australian taxation laws and accounting standards.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.

• MYOB accounting software.
• Xero Practice Manager or similar practice management tools.
• Cloud‑based accounting platforms.
