Security Engineer - Firewall

About the role

DXC Managed Cyber Services is seeking a Security Engineer to join its Secured Infrastructure team in Australia & New Zealand. The role focuses on firewall and broader cybersecurity services, ensuring the delivery of high‑quality security operations for enterprise customers.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate onboarding, management and troubleshooting of cybersecurity services.
• Assist in high‑priority incidents across infrastructure and security domains.
• Maintain security policies, configurations and compliance to exceed industry best practices.
• Execute daily operational tasks to meet Service Level Agreements and identify automation opportunities.
• Implement project‑specific tasks and stay current with emerging security technologies, including AI‑driven tools.
• Liaise with vendors and their technical support teams to provide advanced‑level assistance.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in IT/OT security operations for medium or large enterprises.
• Australian citizenship with a current National Police Clearance and Australian Federal Government Baseline Security Clearance.
• Ability to work on‑site in the ANZ region.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with next‑generation firewalls (Palo Alto, Check Point, Fortinet, Cisco).
• Cloud environment knowledge (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure).
• High‑priority incident response experience.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, Microsoft AZ‑900, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Palo Alto PCNSE, Check Point CCSE, Fortinet NSE 7, Cisco CCNP.
• Understanding of the OSI model and TCP/IP networking.
