About the role
Queensland Academy for Science Mathematics and Technology is seeking enthusiastic secondary teachers for temporary contracts. Opportunities are available for Biology/Earth and Environmental Science (Years 7‑12), French (Years 10‑12) and Health and Physical Education (Years 7‑12). The roles commence between June and July 2026 and run until December 2026.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the school’s rigorous academic standards.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support the International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes where applicable.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to school reporting requirements.
Required profile
- Relevant teaching qualification.
- Full or provisional Queensland Corrective Teacher (QCT) registration.
- Australian working rights or a valid visa.
- Pre‑service and graduate teachers are encouraged to apply, including practicum reports, mentor statements and unofficial transcripts.
Required skills
- Strong subject knowledge in the appointed discipline.
- Ability to create a supportive and challenging learning environment.
