Reporter – Financial & Business News

About the role

BDO is seeking a full‑time Reporter to join its team in the 2nd District, Australia. You will research, verify and transform complex financial, regulatory and business information into clear, accurate reports for internal publications, client communications and digital channels.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct interviews with internal experts and external stakeholders to gather information.
• Monitor industry news and trends relevant to BDO and its clients.
• Draft news articles, briefing notes and multimedia‑ready story outlines that align with BDO’s brand and compliance standards.
• Collaborate with advisory, audit and marketing teams to ensure content is fact‑checked and audience‑appropriate.
• Produce written content for internal publications, client newsletters and online platforms.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Media or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong reporting and news‑writing abilities with a focus on accuracy and ethical judgment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for professional audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines, work on‑site and collaborate across functions.
• Knowledge of financial services, audit or tax environments is a plus.

• Familiarity with online publishing platforms and basic media production tools.
