Purchasing Officer

About the role

We are looking for a Purchasing Officer to support the delivery of high‑quality healthcare services in Toowoomba. The role ensures essential goods and services are procured efficiently, supporting patients, staff and the community.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end procurement processes to secure goods and services needed for clinical and operational functions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clinical teams, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Resolve purchasing, invoicing and supplier queries promptly and accurately.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance compliance and value.

Required profile

• Proactive, detail‑oriented professional with experience in purchasing, procurement or supply operations within a complex environment.
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement.
• Relevant qualifications in purchasing or supply, or experience in healthcare or large‑scale organisations (preferred).

Required skills

• Use of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems for procurement and data management.
