Project Manager – Planning (Queensland)

About the role

McDonald’s Australia is seeking a Project Manager (Planning) to support its rapid restaurant expansion across Queensland. You will lead the Development Application (DA) process, liaise with councils and consultants, and ensure new sites progress on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and accelerate the Development Application phase for new restaurant projects.
• Coordinate with consultants including legal, town planning, acoustic, engineering and architectural teams.
• Engage with council officials, attend and present at council/panel meetings.
• Secure council approvals for portfolio reinvestments.
• Review application packages before lodgement and provide design and planning feedback.
• Gather information on planning issues for proposed, existing or leased sites.
• Report development progress and milestones to internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Town Planning.
• Minimum 5 years experience managing development applications.
• Exposure to the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) industry is preferred.
• Strong organisational and project‑management abilities with a focus on deadlines.
