About the role
ACCIONA is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to coordinate and control mechanical and piping works for the Alkimos Desalination Plant in Perth. The role supports the Senior Project Engineer to deliver the project safely, on schedule, within budget and to quality standards.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct regular safety and environmental inspections and promote safe work practices.
- Review designs, perform quantity take‑offs, prepare work packages and evaluate supplier quotations.
- Create method statements and temporary works briefs, and assess constructability.
- Analyse schedules, manage logistics, track progress and assess risks using planning tools.
- Monitor QA processes, manage subcontractor documentation and forecast financial outcomes.
- Utilise GIS and other digital tools to plan, review and coordinate works.
Required profile
- Bachelor of Engineering degree.
- Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in mechanical/piping projects.
- Proven ability to conduct safety and environmental inspections.
- Experience with design review, quantity take‑offs and procurement processes.
- Proficiency in project scheduling and risk assessment using tools such as P6 and Aphex.
Required skills
- P6 scheduling software.
- Aphex risk and progress tracking tool.
- GIS platforms (Propeller, Revisto).
