Product Engineer, Hydraulic Systems

About the role

Metso is looking for a (Senior) Product Engineer to join the Horizontal Grinding Mill Product Engineering team. You will design, develop, and validate hydraulic and lubrication systems for grinding mill products, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop hydraulic and lubrication systems for new and existing products, including component selection, circuit design, and integration.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to create functional product architecture.
• Perform calculations, simulations, and modeling to optimise performance and efficiency.
• Conduct failure‑mode analysis and implement preventive measures.
• Develop and execute test plans, analyse test data, and recommend design improvements.
• Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation engineers for seamless system integration.
• Support manufacturing and service teams with technical expertise and troubleshooting.
• Maintain technical documentation such as schematics, specifications, and maintenance guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with ISO, SAE, and internal quality standards.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and sustainability.
• Stay updated on emerging fluid‑power and lubrication technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Hydraulic, Mechanical engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in hydraulic and lubrication systems for industrial applications.
• Experience with CAD tools and hydraulic simulation software (e.g., Automation Studio) is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic components such as pumps, valves, and actuators.
• Familiarity with control systems and industry standards.
