About the role
TAFE Queensland is seeking a Procurement Officer to provide professional advice on procurement best practice and to manage the end‑to‑end procurement process for a wide range of goods and services, including information technology. This permanent, full‑time position reports to the Procurement Team Leader and will be based at a TAFE Queensland campus.
Key responsibilities
- Procure goods and services in line with Queensland Procurement Policy and TAFE Queensland procurement frameworks, ensuring cost‑effectiveness, timeliness, quality and compliance.
- Assist with procurement planning, supplier research, market and risk analysis, and strategy development.
- Develop and structure requests for quotes, invitations to offer, evaluation criteria, and manage the offer process, including negotiations and contract drafting.
- Support the creation of purchasing practices, guidelines and work instructions aligned with strategic and operational planning.
- Exercise purchasing delegation according to prescribed rules and accountabilities.
- Conduct forward procurement planning, spend analysis and client consultations.
- Develop contract management documentation and advise contract owners on supplier performance and contract value.
- Monitor, analyse and audit purchasing methods to ensure efficiency and policy compliance.
- Provide accurate, timely advice and assistance to clients throughout the procurement and purchasing process.
Required profile
- Demonstrated ability to provide professional procurement advice and follow best practice.
- Knowledge of Queensland Procurement Policy and TAFE Queensland procurement procedures.
- Experience preparing RFQs, evaluating offers, negotiating contracts and managing contracts.
- Capability to conduct supplier research, market analysis and risk assessments.
- Ability to develop purchasing guidelines, work instructions and support strategic planning.
- Experience in contract management and supplier performance monitoring.
