About the role

The Principal will lead Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School in Palmerston, guiding a diverse community of students, families, and staff. This full‑time, four‑year fixed‑term role combines strategic vision with day‑to‑day operational leadership, ensuring the school’s Catholic identity and educational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide faith‑based leadership that embeds Catholic values across all school activities.
• Drive high‑quality teaching and learning, meeting the needs of a multicultural student body.
• Build strong partnerships with families, community groups, and local leaders.
• Lead continuous improvement through evidence‑based planning and innovation.
• Oversee staff and student wellbeing, professional development, and performance management.
• Manage school resources, finances, and compliance with relevant policies and legislation.

Required profile

• Demonstrates Catholic values and active participation in a Eucharistic community (candidates of other faiths with strong values are welcome).
• Proven educational leadership experience with a record of improving student outcomes.
• Ability to inspire, develop, and support staff through pastoral care and formation.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and administrative capabilities.
• Experience working in cross‑cultural or diverse community settings.
• Eligible for NT teacher registration and accreditation in Catholic Leadership.
