Maintenance Technician – Mining Equipment

About the role

Whitehaven Coal is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join its Maules Creek Mine team. You will be responsible for repairing and maintaining a wide range of mobile mining equipment both in the field and workshop, while upholding the company’s strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct required repairs and preventative maintenance on mobile equipment, including CAT and Hitachi machinery.
• Demonstrate visible safe working practices and a commitment to safety at all times.
• Work with minimal supervision, completing assigned work orders efficiently.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative organisational culture.

Required profile

• Experience in mining or heavy‑industry environments maintaining mobile equipment.
• Trade qualification as an Auto Electrician, Diesel Fitter or Plant Mechanic (including NSW Certificate of Proficiency).
• Current driver’s licence.
• Flexibility to work day and night shifts.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, taking ownership of tasks.
