Lecturer in Physical Chemistry

About the role

The School of Physics, Chemistry and Earth Sciences at Adelaide University seeks a Lecturer in Physical Chemistry to join a vibrant, internationally recognised chemistry group. The role combines teaching, research supervision and the development of an independent research programme focused on computational and theoretical physical chemistry.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and Honours courses in physical, computational and theoretical chemistry.
• Supervise Honours, Masters of Research and PhD students.
• Develop and maintain an independent research programme in computational/theoretical physical chemistry.
• Secure external research funding from national bodies and industry partners.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary institutes such as the Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing, the Environment Institute and the Future Industries Institute.

Required profile

• PhD in physical chemistry or a closely related discipline.
• Strong publication record in computational or theoretical chemistry.
• Demonstrated ability to obtain competitive research grants.
• Experience in teaching and supervising students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
