Lead Process Engineer

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Lead Process Engineer to join its Victorian Water Team in Melbourne. You will drive the design and delivery of sustainable water and wastewater infrastructure, shaping projects that impact communities and the environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development of process designs, including PFDs, P&IDs, mass balances, modelling and documentation.
• Oversee concept and detailed design phases and provide construction and commissioning support.
• Mentor junior engineers across multiple concurrent projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, constructible solutions.
• Identify low‑carbon, circular‑economy innovations for resource recovery.
• Build client and stakeholder relationships, supporting business development and tenders.
• Ensure quality, accuracy and risk management for all deliverables.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Process or Environmental Engineering.
• Chartership or progress toward it (desirable).
• Extensive experience in water and wastewater process engineering, preferably in consulting.
• Proven track record delivering water/wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
