Laboratory Technician – Plant Science

About the role

Nufarm is seeking a motivated Laboratory Technician to join its Innovation Centre in Horsham, Victoria. The role supports the Doubled Haploid (DH) Laboratory, contributing to the development of high‑performance canola varieties for global markets.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory tasks following established protocols.
• Subculture plant embryos and transfer them to growth media under the Lab Manager’s direction.
• Assist with laboratory‑related projects and data collection.
• Carry out occasional glasshouse duties such as plant bagging, harvesting, seed handling, and weighing.

• Strong communication skills with high attention to detail.
• Comfortable with repetitive, process‑driven work in a structured environment.
• Willingness to learn new procedures and support multiple areas of the program.
• Ability to work independently when needed while maintaining positive team relationships.
