About the role
Our client, a leading retailer in Australia and New Zealand, is seeking a Group Financial Controller to report directly to the CFO. The role will oversee group consolidation, financial reporting integrity and balance‑sheet governance while driving finance transformation across the business.
Key responsibilities
- Lead month‑end and year‑end close for all entities, owning group P&L, balance sheet and cash‑flow reporting.
- Prepare and present consolidated monthly results and variance analysis to the Senior Leadership Team and Board.
- Manage group cash‑flow forecasting and oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable and financial accounting functions.
- Provide executive oversight of internal audit and lead the annual external audit process.
- Drive finance transformation initiatives, including process redesign, automation and reporting enhancements.
- Lead and develop a mid‑sized finance team across multiple sites.
Required profile
- CA or CPA qualified, preferably with Big 4 or mid‑tier audit experience.
- 10+ years of experience in financial control, group reporting or corporate finance.
- Proven track record of leading multi‑entity consolidations and complex finance teams.
- Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to executive and board audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver finance transformation and systems optimisation.
