Financial Controller – Lead Finance & Governance

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Financial Controller to lead Hub Australia’s finance function. Reporting directly to the Co‑CEOs, you will provide governance, structure and technical expertise for our national operations across multiple sites.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial reporting for all entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance and integrity.
• Oversee month‑end and year‑end close, balance‑sheet management and technical accounting matters such as revenue recognition and lease accounting.
• Manage finance operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash‑flow, debtor management and working‑capital optimisation.
• Drive governance, risk management, internal controls and compliance across tax, audit and statutory obligations.
• Partner with executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, Board reporting and strategic financial decision‑making.
• Maintain relationships with auditors, landlords, external advisors and key financial stakeholders.
• Develop and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified with 5‑7+ years of experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance leadership role.
• Strong technical accounting expertise across financial reporting, compliance and governance.
• Experience leading finance operations in a multi‑site or property‑related business environment.
• Commercially minded with the ability to balance technical excellence and strategic oversight.
