Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Controller to lead the day‑to‑day finance function for our privately owned property operations business in Melbourne. Reporting to the CFO, you will own the operational finance agenda and work closely with commercial decision‑makers.

Key responsibilities

• Own month‑end close and produce management, board and owner reports.
• Prepare and maintain cash‑flow forecasts across the property portfolio.
• Lead the annual external audit process.
• Manage statutory compliance, including GST, payroll tax, FBT and IAS lodgements.
• Lead and develop a small corporate finance team.
• Partner with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified (or equivalent).
• 5‑8 years of finance experience, including recent senior financial controller or finance manager roles.
• Hands‑on experience in an operationally intensive or property‑adjacent business.
• Exposure to property, hospitality, build‑to‑rent or service‑based businesses is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Xero accounting software.
