About the role
The Colac Otway Shire Council is seeking a motivated Finance professional to lead its financial accounting function. Reporting to the Manager of Financial Services, you will work closely with senior leaders to ensure robust financial reporting and support sound decision‑making for the council and its community.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver general financial and statutory reports.
- Oversee taxation activities and monitor council treasury operations.
- Develop and implement financial policies.
- Assist internal and external auditors during audit processes.
Required profile
- Proven experience in a comparable finance or accounting role.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively and support a team environment.
- Willingness to learn, solve problems and contribute to continuous improvement.
