Field Reliability Engineer

About the role

The Field Reliability Engineer will join the maintenance team at Capcoal Surface Operations, reporting to the Maintenance Planning & Engineering Superintendent. This role leads reliability, asset health, and maintenance strategy for critical mining equipment such as draglines, shovels and excavators.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and continuously improve condition monitoring programs to increase asset health visibility.
• Embed structural integrity strategies across all field assets and manage defect reporting, action, and elimination.
• Analyse performance data of draglines, shovels and excavators to identify trends and optimise reliability.
• Develop and maintain reliability and maintenance dashboards providing clear insights into machine health.
• Support root‑cause analysis, defect elimination programmes and collaborate with engineering teams and OEMs to refine service strategies.
• Align preventive maintenance tasks and job cards with the intended maintenance strategy and system standards.
• Lead reviews of maintenance tactics and lifecycle plans for critical assets.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives within maintenance and engineering.

Required profile

• Mechanical or Electrical trade qualification and/or tertiary engineering degree (Reliability, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Condition Monitoring, Asset Management).
• Minimum 3 years experience as a Reliability Engineer.
• In‑depth knowledge of maintenance for draglines, shovels and excavators.
• Proven capability in maintenance systems, failure analysis and asset health program development.
