Emissions Engineer

About the role

APA is seeking an Emissions Engineer to join its Engineering & Technical Solutions team in Brisbane, Melbourne or Perth. Reporting to the Head of Emissions & LT Optimisation, you will help drive operational emissions performance and support strategic decarbonisation initiatives across the asset base.

Key responsibilities

• Lead fuel‑gas optimisation projects to improve compressor efficiency, reduce costs and meet performance targets.
• Manage and analyse emissions, energy and operational data in line with the Enhanced Methane Measurement (EMM) program.
• Apply process‑engineering expertise to identify and develop emissions‑reduction and abatement opportunities.
• Partner with stakeholders, vendors and internal teams to explore practical and innovative sustainability solutions.
• Support emissions‑reduction programmes by improving operational practices, reducing methane venting and ensuring robust governance and reporting.

Required profile

• Background in process engineering or a related discipline, preferably within energy, gas or infrastructure environments.
• Strong analytical capability with experience in data analysis, modelling and performance optimisation.
• Demonstrated interest in sustainability and emissions‑reduction initiatives.
• Collaborative approach with the ability to build strong relationships and influence across teams.
• Proactive, solutions‑focused mindset and willingness to learn and adapt.
