Electrical Engineer – Substation Design & Delivery

About the role

Elecnor is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the multidisciplinary team delivering the EnergyConnect 700 km transmission line in regional New South Wales. The successful candidate will coordinate the design and delivery of sub‑station works, ensuring technical integrity and safety throughout the project.

Key responsibilities

• Develop electrical design solutions, specifications, schematics and test procedures for high‑voltage generation and distribution assets.
• Prepare calculations, analysis and comprehensive engineering reports in collaboration with the Lead Engineer.
• Drive value‑engineering initiatives to optimise cost and programme schedules.
• Review client specifications and ensure compliance with quality‑assurance criteria.
• Liaise with construction teams, providing design input and methodology development.
• Collaborate with external designers to maintain technical integrity.
• Lead and project‑manage multidisciplinary engineering teams while adhering to safety requirements.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience on high‑voltage distribution systems, including control systems.
• Hands‑on experience in construction and commissioning of HV/LV substation equipment.
• Previous work in an EPCM environment and familiarity with FIFO/DIDO roster arrangements.
• Valid Construction White Card.
