Dispensary Manager – Pharmacy Operations Lead

About the role

Slade Pharmacy is seeking an experienced pharmacist to lead its dispensary at the Geelong site within Epworth Hospital. The role combines hospital and retail pharmacy responsibilities, ensuring safe, accurate, and timely medication supply while supporting high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage day‑to‑day dispensary operations across hospital and retail services.
• Oversee inventory, imprest processes, and stock control to meet operational and financial targets.
• Collaborate with pharmacists, technicians, and multidisciplinary hospital staff to optimise patient care.
• Support PBS claiming, billing, and timely prescription management.
• Monitor performance, drive quality‑assurance initiatives and continuous improvement.
• Supervise, coach and develop pharmacy staff, including onboarding and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, policies, procedures and accreditation standards.
• Act on delegated authority for the Pharmacy Operations Manager when required.

Required profile

• Current registration as a Pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Previous experience in a hospital or community pharmacy with leadership or supervisory duties.
• Strong dispensing knowledge and commitment to medication safety.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
• Highly organised with strong time‑management and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
