Director of Marketing

About the role

The Director of Marketing will lead the brand’s marketing strategy for Sofitel Melbourne on Collins, a 5‑star luxury hotel in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD. Reporting to senior management, you will drive visibility, strategic collaborations and high‑profile events that showcase the hotel’s French elegance and contemporary flair.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns that enhance brand awareness and attract target guests.
• Leverage an extensive network of hospitality and events contacts to secure strategic partnerships.
• Oversee the planning and delivery of high‑profile events, art exhibitions and culinary promotions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including sales, operations and F&B—to ensure consistent messaging.
• Manage the marketing budget, monitor performance metrics and report results to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in luxury hospitality or a comparable high‑end environment.
• Strong project‑management background with a track record of delivering complex campaigns and events.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging senior stakeholders and diverse audiences.
• Collaborative leadership style that inspires teams and aligns functions toward common goals.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.
• Experience with Canvas (or similar design tools).
