DevOps Engineer – Federal Government Tech (Hybrid)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join a high‑performing federal government technology team. The role focuses on delivering secure, scalable and automated solutions across complex ICT environments, supporting critical enterprise platforms and applications.

Key responsibilities

• Support deployment, management and optimisation of enterprise platforms and applications.
• Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions, primarily within Kubernetes environments.
• Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Deploy and administer Kubernetes‑based platforms and applications.
• Monitor, patch and maintain foundational infrastructure and services.
• Ensure secure platform operations in protected enterprise settings.
• Participate in BAU support activities and production deployments.
• Collaborate with Agile delivery teams to enable continuous delivery practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience in DevOps roles supporting enterprise platforms.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) security clearance.
• Experience working in Agile and DevOps delivery environments.
• Strong collaboration skills with development, product and delivery teams.

Required skills

• Infrastructure as Code deployments (Kubernetes, Kustomize, Kubespray).
• Kubernetes platform deployment and administration.
• Ansible automation.
• Git source control.
• Linux administration (Ubuntu).
• CI/CD tooling and pipeline automation.
• Jira and Confluence for work management.
• Secure systems administration.
• Familiarity with Apache Proxy with mod_security.
• Knowledge of ForgeRock OpenAM, IDM and DS.
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) – highly regarded.
