Datacenter Technician – AI Infrastructure

About the role

Sharon AI is expanding its AI infrastructure team in Sydney and is looking for a hands‑on Datacenter Technician. You will work in a live, high‑performance compute environment, supporting critical hardware that powers next‑generation artificial intelligence workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain servers, storage, networking equipment and rack systems.
• Perform structured cabling works (copper and fibre) to industry standards.
• Support rack‑and‑stack deployments, hardware upgrades, migrations and decommissioning.
• Monitor systems, respond to alerts, incidents and service requests.
• Troubleshoot hardware, connectivity and infrastructure issues.
• Maintain documentation: layouts, asset registers and operational procedures.
• Conduct routine inspections of power, cooling, airflow and physical infrastructure.
• Follow ITIL‑aligned change management and governance processes.
• Collaborate with engineers, vendors and stakeholders to ensure service reliability.

Required profile

• Proven experience in live data‑centre or critical‑infrastructure environments.
• Strong hands‑on knowledge of server hardware, structured cabling and networking concepts.
• Experience with fibre and copper installation, testing and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with switching, routing and enterprise infrastructure.
• Understanding of PDUs, UPS systems and cooling infrastructure.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication and documentation skills.
• Customer‑focused mindset with attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of ITIL processes; relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, ITIL) are a plus.
