Cyber Security Coordinator

About the role

This is a Canberra‑based, long‑term contract position within a major Australian federal department. The Cyber Security Coordinator will provide governance and operational oversight for cyber security activities across the department’s technology environment, ensuring security considerations are embedded in both production and non‑production changes.

Key responsibilities

• Review and coordinate change requests from a cyber security perspective, assessing technical and non‑technical impacts.
• Support service delivery using the ServiceNow ticketing platform.
• Contribute to managed vendor performance reviews and assist in resolving operational issues.
• Collaborate with internal cyber teams, IT support functions, and external providers.
• Maintain alignment with ITIL‑aligned change, incident, and problem management processes.

Required profile

• Experience in cyber security, ICT security or service management, preferably in government or a highly regulated organisation.
• Proven ability to review changes, assess risk, and engage with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes such as change, incident and problem management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• NV1 security clearance and ability to work onsite in Canberra.
