Cyber Security Analyst

About the role

We are seeking a talented Cyber Operations Analyst to join our growing team at Boeing Defence Australia. The role supports the P‑8A Poseidon maritime, intelligence, surveillance and response aircraft, protecting Australia’s interests.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse network traffic and event logs to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Assist in assessment of security control effectiveness.
• Support incident response activities and post‑incident analysis.
• Develop strategies to detect and prevent cyber attacks, including deployment of security tools and technologies.
• Collaborate with Commonwealth partners and other stakeholders to investigate and respond to security incidents.
• Support and manage security technologies such as firewalls and IDS/IPS.
• Support security assessments and audits, recommending appropriate security measures.
• Maintain incident response plans and procedures.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or holding a degree in a cyber‑related field or equivalent experience.
• Hold an NV1 security clearance and be able to obtain NV2.
• Australian citizenship.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• SIEM tools.
• IDS/IPS.
• Firewalls.
• Vulnerability scanners.
• Windows and Linux environments.
• Knowledge of Australian ISM, DSPF and PSPF (bonus).
