About the role
The Gympie Regional Council is seeking a motivated Customer Contact Officer to join its Customer Contact team. This full‑time position involves providing high‑quality service to the community through phone, online platforms and face‑to‑face interactions, ensuring a positive experience for residents and visitors.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver accurate, consistent information to internal and external customers, aiming for first‑contact resolution.
- Assist the community in using a variety of service channels, including telephone, web portals and in‑person enquiries.
- Process customer requests, complete transactions and record actions in line with Council procedures.
- Apply conflict‑resolution and negotiation techniques to resolve issues effectively.
- Receipt Council payments, perform daily banking reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
- Stay informed about Council events and initiatives to provide relevant guidance.
Required profile
- Enthusiastic customer‑service professional with strong communication skills.
- Detail‑oriented and able to manage multiple enquiries simultaneously.
- Proactive problem‑solver who can work independently and as part of a team.
