Clinical Nurse – West Kimberley Regional Prison

About the role

The Clinical Nurse provides clinical leadership, critical thinking and direct patient care within the West Kimberley Regional Prison. This role supports health promotion, disease prevention, chronic disease management and emergency response for a diverse inmate population.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate nursing care throughout the patient journey in a custodial setting.
• Deliver routine, urgent and chronic disease management, including health education and immunisation.
• Respond to emergencies and manage medication administration safely.
• Promote preventative health initiatives and support disease prevention programs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive primary health care delivery.

Required profile

• Demonstrated senior‑level clinical nursing practice.
• Australian or New Zealand citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid Australian work visa.
• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Eligibility for permanent or fixed‑term public sector appointments.
