Clinical Nurse – Alcohol & Other Drugs

About the role

The Clinical Nurse will join the Alcohol and Other Drugs Access Team to provide comprehensive assessments, therapeutic interventions and coordinated care for clients with substance‑use concerns. The role also involves delivering education and support to staff, clients, families and external agencies, using evidence‑based practice.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough clinical assessments of individuals presenting with alcohol and other drug issues.
• Develop and deliver therapeutic interventions and treatment plans.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care and liaise with community services and external agencies.
• Provide education and support to clients, families, staff and partner organisations.
• Apply relevant legislation and contemporary AOD theoretical frameworks in practice.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with current practising registration.
• Experience at Nurse Level 3 or equivalent clinical experience in addiction or mental health settings.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and attainment of a postgraduate qualification if not already held.

Required skills

• Knowledge of alcohol and other drug legislation and treatment frameworks.
• Ability to conduct evidence‑based assessments and deliver therapeutic interventions.

What we offer

• Remuneration package ranging from $131,100 to $139,950 (salary $111,174 – $119,984).
