Civil Engineer – Roads & Highways

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Civil Engineer to join its Roads & Highways team in Mackay. You will work on road infrastructure projects, contributing technical expertise from concept through detailed design and construction support.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and delivery of road and highway projects, from concept to construction support.
• Prepare and review technical outputs such as alignments, earthworks, drainage and pavement design in line with client standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated infrastructure solutions.
• Support project delivery by managing tasks, coordinating inputs, and meeting program and budget requirements.
• Foster a positive, collaborative team culture.

Required profile

• Relevant engineering degree with experience in roads and highways design.
• Familiarity with Australian standards and guidelines (e.g., TMR, Austroads).
• Strong problem‑solving ability and practical design thinking.
• Effective communication skills for client and team interaction.
• Willingness to work towards CPEng and RPEQ registration, with support provided.
