Chaplain – Australian Air Force (Travel Opportunities)

About the role

The Australian Air Force is seeking compassionate individuals to serve as Chaplains. This position offers recent graduates and experienced professionals the chance to provide spiritual and pastoral care to service members and their families while gaining leadership experience and travel opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Work within a Chaplaincy team that respects diverse faiths, religious or philosophical views, sexuality and gender.
• Deliver spiritual, religious support and pastoral care to ADF members and families.
• Advise command on matters relating to spiritual wellbeing, ethics, morale and character formation.
• Promote an inclusive culture that respects differing beliefs and theological thought.
• Collaborate with religious leaders from all faith groups in Australia and overseas.

Required profile

• At least 17 years old at enlistment.
• Australian citizenship.
• Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in theology, ministry, pastoral care or chaplaincy.
• Completed units in pastoral counselling skills and theory.
