About the role
The Audit Officer will lead internal audits and reviews for the Attorney General's Department in Darwin, ensuring compliance with schedules and line‑management requests. This role also supports the Risk Management function and provides secretariat services to the Audit Committee.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, execute and report on internal audits across the department.
- Conduct ad‑hoc reviews as directed by line management.
- Maintain audit schedules and ensure timely completion of audit activities.
- Support the Risk Management team by identifying and assessing risks.
- Provide secretariat support for the Audit Committee, including preparation of minutes and follow‑up actions.
Required profile
- Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Experience equivalent to an Administrative Officer 6 level.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Required skills
- Knowledge of internal audit standards and methodologies.
- Understanding of risk management principles.
- Proficiency with audit documentation tools.
