About the role

The School of Mathematical Sciences at Adelaide University seeks an Associate Researcher to lead cutting‑edge work in differential geometry, focusing on higher‑order symmetry, prolongation, and parabolic geometry. This three‑year fixed‑term position is part of the ARC Discovery Project "Higher order symmetry, prolongation, and parabolic geometry".

Key responsibilities

• Conduct original research on higher‑order and hidden symmetries using modern prolongation and parabolic geometry techniques.
• Collaborate with leading international partners and contribute to interdisciplinary projects.
• Publish findings in high‑impact journals and present at conferences.
• Mentor and train early‑career scientists within the project.
• Deliver project milestones and reports to the Australian Research Council.

Required profile

• PhD in Mathematics or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated expertise in differential geometry and related fields.
• Strong record of scholarly publications.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative research team.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of differential geometry.
• Experience with parabolic geometry and higher‑order symmetry concepts.
