Associate Director - CFO Advisory

About the role

KPMG’s Financial Risk Advisory – CFO Advisory (CFOA) team is seeking an experienced Associate Director to join a collaborative consulting division. You will work with leading Australian clients, helping them navigate complex accounting, financial and regulatory challenges while delivering commercial outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enhance financial control and reporting environments as part of finance function transformations.
• Design and implement operating models that embed clear accountability across organisations.
• Assist clients in embedding AI into finance processes to improve decision‑making and reporting efficiency.
• Implement robust data‑governance practices to build trust in data and support high‑quality reporting.
• Participate in cross‑divisional teams on pre‑ and post‑deal finance set‑up engagements, supporting M&A value creation and synergy realisation.

Required profile

• Client‑first mindset with strong commercial and analytical orientation.
• Energy, curiosity and willingness to tackle emerging challenges and new technologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, problem‑solving and project‑management abilities.
• Relevant tertiary qualification (CA or equivalent) and experience in audit, assurance or consulting within professional services or industry.
• Prior experience in a finance function or leading large, complex finance projects.
