Accountant – 12‑month Fixed Term

About the role

Yancoal MTW is seeking an experienced Accountant for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. You will partner with operational departments at the Mount Thorley Warkworth mine, preparing and reviewing management accounts and supporting key financial processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly management accounts.
• Support capital lifecycle processes and maintain the fixed‑asset register.
• Assist in the development of the annual budget.
• Conduct cost reviews and provide financial analysis across the operation.

Required profile

• 1‑2+ years of accounting experience.
• Degree qualified in Accounting or Commerce.
• CPA/CA designation or currently studying towards it.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organisational ability and attention to detail.

Required skills

• SAP accounting processes.
