Principal Data Analyst – Microsoft Fabric Specialist

About the role

Legal Aid Queensland is seeking a Principal Data Analyst with deep expertise in the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem to drive financial insights that shape strategy and improve operational performance across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain forecasting models that support financial planning and decision‑making.
• Analyse complex data sets to produce clear, actionable recommendations aligned with organisational objectives.
• Lead the adoption of best practices in data engineering and analytics within the Business Analysis Unit.
• Provide technical coaching and mentorship to junior team members.
• Collaborate with finance and business stakeholders to translate data findings into strategic actions.

Required profile

• Extensive hands‑on experience with Microsoft Fabric, SQL and Microsoft Excel.
• Proven work with financial platforms such as TechnologyOne CiA.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking with a track record of delivering accurate forecasts.
• Leadership experience in capability development and mentoring.
