About the role
McDonald’s Australia is seeking a Junior Legal Counsel to join its Corporate Commercial Legal team. This entry‑level position offers the chance to develop in‑house legal expertise while supporting a fast‑moving, customer‑focused business.
Key responsibilities
- Review marketing, advertising and promotional campaigns for legal risk.
- Support customer enquiries, complaints and escalations.
- Assist with subpoena requests and coordinate related documentation.
- Contribute to company secretarial activities, corporate compliance and record‑keeping.
- Conduct legal research and draft documents for general commercial matters.
- Manage legal templates, registers and internal legal processes.
- Identify potential risks and propose practical, business‑focused solutions.
- Partner with stakeholders across Marketing, Customer Experience, Operations and Corporate Services.
Required profile
- 1‑3 years post‑qualification experience or a recent law graduate completing PLT.
- Eligible for admission as an Australian lawyer.
- Strong communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Organised, proactive and able to juggle multiple priorities.
- Curious, adaptable and eager to grow in an in‑house legal role.
- Collaborative style with confidence to work independently.
