Junior Legal Counsel – Commercial

About the role

McDonald’s Australia is seeking a Junior Legal Counsel to join its Corporate Commercial Legal team. This entry‑level position offers the chance to develop in‑house legal expertise while supporting a fast‑moving, customer‑focused business.

Key responsibilities

• Review marketing, advertising and promotional campaigns for legal risk.
• Support customer enquiries, complaints and escalations.
• Assist with subpoena requests and coordinate related documentation.
• Contribute to company secretarial activities, corporate compliance and record‑keeping.
• Conduct legal research and draft documents for general commercial matters.
• Manage legal templates, registers and internal legal processes.
• Identify potential risks and propose practical, business‑focused solutions.
• Partner with stakeholders across Marketing, Customer Experience, Operations and Corporate Services.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years post‑qualification experience or a recent law graduate completing PLT.
• Eligible for admission as an Australian lawyer.
• Strong communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Organised, proactive and able to juggle multiple priorities.
• Curious, adaptable and eager to grow in an in‑house legal role.
• Collaborative style with confidence to work independently.
