Data Analyst – Hospitality & Entertainment

About the role

The Data Analyst will turn data from multiple hospitality and entertainment systems into actionable insights that drive performance across Wests Group Macarthur’s venues. Reporting to the Group Commercial Manager, you will support both operational and strategic decision‑making by delivering high‑quality reporting, maintaining data integrity, and fostering a data‑driven culture.

Key responsibilities

• Extract, clean and validate data from gaming, POS, rostering, membership, finance and digital platforms.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and automated reports for managers and leaders.
• Produce weekly, monthly and ad‑hoc reports with clear commentary and visual insights.
• Analyse trends in venue performance, membership behaviour, promotions and operations.
• Translate complex data into practical insights for non‑technical stakeholders.
• Support business modelling and scenario analysis under guidance.
• Contribute to data governance, documentation and reporting process improvements.
• Assist with sustainability and environmental reporting, including energy, waste and efficiency metrics.

Required profile

• Analytical, curious and detail‑oriented with a strong interest in commercial and operational decision‑making.
• Excellent collaborator who can explain data clearly and produce accurate, high‑quality work.
• Tertiary qualification (or current study) in Data Analytics, Business, Commerce, IT, Statistics or a related field.
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup functions and charting.
• Demonstrated ability to work with data and deliver accurate analysis.
• Good communication skills and the ability to present insights clearly.
• High level of integrity and respect for confidential information.
• Problem‑solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
