Senior Security Monitoring and Response Analyst

About the role

Mastercard’s Security Operations Center Incident Response (SOCIR) team is looking for a Senior Security Monitoring and Response Analyst to join a 24/7 global operation. You will be a key member of the Incident Response team, handling complex security incidents and improving overall security operations.

Key responsibilities

• Own incidents from detection to resolution, performing technical analysis of malware, web attacks, lateral movement and other threats.
• Communicate incident updates to stakeholders and coordinate response actions.
• Maintain on‑call rotation and provide emergency coverage for escalated events.
• Lead after‑action review sessions and share lessons learned.
• Conduct threat‑hunting activities and develop automation scripts to streamline investigations.
• Apply and enhance NIST, CIS, ISO/IEC 27305 and SANS based incident response playbooks.

Required profile

• Proven experience in security incident response and monitoring, preferably in a senior or lead capacity.
• Demonstrated ability to guide junior analysts and drive technical projects.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement of security operations.

Required skills

• Incident response methodologies (NIST, CIS, ISO/IEC 27305, SANS).
• Technical analysis of malware, web attacks, and lateral movement.
• Threat hunting and security automation scripting.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management.
