Senior Accountant – Property (6-Month Contract)

About the role

This 6‑month contract position is for a Senior Accountant specialising in property accounting within a fast‑growing private property group. You will work closely with senior finance leaders and operational stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting, trust accounting, and tax distribution across multiple entities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management reports, board packs and financial analysis for multiple trusts and entities.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Oversee trust accounting and calculate tax distributions across property entities.
• Assist with BAS, IAS, tax reconciliations and year‑end compliance.
• Collaborate with external tax advisors, auditors and legal teams.
• Maintain and improve financial controls, reporting processes and documentation.
• Provide commercial financial insights to asset managers and operational teams.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow reporting.
• Contribute to acquisition, restructuring and ad‑hoc project work as required.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification.
• Proven experience in the property sector, including trusts and complex ownership structures.
• Strong technical accounting and reporting capability.
• Ability to communicate confidently with executives and external advisors.
• Self‑motivated with the capacity to manage competing deadlines.
