Logistics Planning Manager

About the role

The Logistics Planning Manager will lead end‑to‑end import and export operations for vehicle shipments between China and Australia. You will ensure timely delivery, compliance with Australian regulations, and cost‑effective logistics solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the full export process from China and import process into Australia, including booking, customs clearance, documentation and quarantine.
• Develop and track monthly finished‑vehicle shipping plans to meet sales demand and inventory targets.
• Manage parts importation, reverse logistics and warranty parts returns.
• Create demand plans for vehicles and parts using sales forecasts, historical data and market activities.
• Maintain inventory records for port, bonded warehouse and regional locations and organise regular stocktakes.
• Monitor logistics KPIs such as on‑time delivery, damage rate and demurrage charges, driving continuous improvement.
• Ensure all import processes comply with Australian Border Force requirements and vehicle import regulations.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with freight forwarders, hauliers and warehousing providers, controlling logistics cost per unit.

Required profile

• 5+ years of planning or logistics experience in the automotive or bulk‑commodity sector.
• At least 1 year of hands‑on Australian import/export operations experience.
• Strong knowledge of Australian customs clearance procedures, VIN compliance and supply‑chain planning tools.
• Excellent cross‑department communication skills to collaborate with planning, sales and after‑sales teams.
