Lawyer – Legal AI & Marketplace Specialist

About the role

LawConnect is building an AI‑driven legal marketplace that helps Australians access the right legal help. As the in‑house lawyer, you will ensure that every consumer‑facing product and piece of content is legally sound while shaping the legal intelligence that powers the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Review product features, user‑facing copy and content to guarantee legal accuracy and compliance.
• Develop the legal IP that guides the AI, defining the rules for scenarios such as separations, employment claims and other consumer legal matters.
• Partner with law firms, government bodies, legal aid commissions and professional organisations to build and formalise commercial relationships.
• Collaborate with product, engineering and commercial teams to align legal requirements with product development.
• Test the end‑to‑end product from a lawyer’s perspective, identifying AI strengths, gaps and improvement opportunities.
• Work with the broader legal team on regulatory and compliance matters specific to LawConnect.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience working in or closely with Australian law firms.
• Strong commercial instinct and confidence presenting to senior stakeholders, regulators and government agencies.
• Genuine interest in legal technology and its impact on law‑firm operations.
• Proven ability to build and maintain external relationships across the legal ecosystem.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of Australian law relevant to consumer legal issues.
• Experience drafting and reviewing legal content for public consumption.
• Ability to translate legal concepts into clear guidelines for AI systems.
