Information Security Operations Analyst

About the role

As an Information Security Operations Analyst at efex, you will protect the internal IT environment of a leading Australian IT services provider. You will work in a fast‑paced MSP setting, handling security operations, vulnerability management and compliance across Microsoft security technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and manage internal security alerts, incidents and ticket queues.
• Maintain and improve efex’s security posture across systems and devices.
• Support vulnerability management activities throughout the business.
• Work with Microsoft security tools such as Defender, Intune, Entra ID and Conditional Access.
• Assist with alignment to Essential 8, ISO 27001 and other security best practices.
• Respond to and appropriately escalate security incidents.
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation.
• Contribute ideas for continuous improvement of security operations and processes.
• Automate security management and reporting using scripting and automation tools.

Required profile

• Technically strong, proactive and detail‑oriented with a genuine interest in cyber security operations.
• Experience in a Security Operations, Systems Administration or Cyber Security role.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft security technologies and the M365 ecosystem.
• Experience with Intune, Entra ID, Conditional Access and endpoint security controls.
• Exposure to vulnerability management and cyber security tooling.
• Knowledge of frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls or Essential 8.
• PowerShell scripting or automation experience.
• Excellent troubleshooting, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams; MSP experience is a plus.
