Corporate Communications Manager – ANZ

About the role

Uber is seeking a senior communications leader to shape the narrative for ridesharing, delivery and flexible work across Australia and New Zealand. Based in Sydney, you will report to the Director of Communications, ANZ and work in a fast‑paced press office, driving proactive media engagement and handling issues as they arise.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Uber’s media profile across ANZ, developing and executing strategic narratives and integrated campaigns.
• Drive proactive media outreach while managing reactive and crisis communications.
• Act as a trusted spokesperson and senior media contact in high‑pressure situations.
• Partner with global and regional communications teams to align strategy and protect Uber’s reputation.
• Produce high‑quality written content including media materials, opinion pieces, speeches and executive messaging.
• Manage external agencies and coordinate cross‑functional stakeholders.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in communications, media, government or a related field.
• Strong press‑office background with proven issues and crisis‑management experience.
• Deep understanding of the Australian media landscape and established journalist relationships.
• Exceptional writing and storytelling ability with sharp verbal reasoning.
• Experience influencing senior internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to simplify complex issues into clear, credible narratives.
• Comfort operating in high‑visibility, high‑pressure environments.
• Ministerial or government experience is highly regarded.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
