Youth Worker - Noosa Flexible School

About the role

Noosa Flexible School, part of Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) Flexible Schools, is looking for a Youth Worker to support young people who have experienced challenges in traditional schooling. The position is continuing full-time (1.0 FTE) in Sunshine Beach, Queensland, commencing in January 2027. The school's approach is grounded in trauma-informed practice and its principles of Respect, Participation, Honesty and Safe & Legal.

Key responsibilities

• Support young people in the classroom and facilitate wellbeing activities.
• Help deliver outdoor learning experiences.
• Work alongside colleagues to help young people navigate challenging situations.
• Build relationships through consistency, patience, humour and respect, understanding that meaningful engagement takes time.

Required profile

• Genuinely enjoys working with young people and believes all young people have strengths and potential.
• Adaptable, reflective and willing to learn, able to collaborate while bringing initiative and creativity.
• Current Working With Children Check (or eligibility to obtain one).
• Subject to EREA and legislative screening procedures.
