Water Resources Engineer – Brisbane

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join its Queensland Land and Water team in Brisbane. You will work alongside a group of highly skilled water specialists on hydraulic and flood‑plain management projects for infrastructure, energy and water markets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and run two‑dimensional hydraulic models, preferably using TUFLOW.
• Support drainage, catchment, dam, water‑balance and industrial water projects.
• Produce analyses and reports for clients, ensuring clear communication of findings.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and share knowledge across projects.

Required profile

• Proven experience in 2D hydraulic modelling.
• Strong understanding of Australian rainfall‑runoff relationships.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to Aurecon’s values of integrity, innovation and sustainability.

• TUFLOW (preferred hydraulic modelling software)
• Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
• RORB and URBS for hydrologic modelling
• GoldSim
• 12D Drainage
