Technology Specialist - Smart Construction

About the role

Komatsu Australia is looking for a Technology Specialist to deliver support across customer and branch locations throughout Queensland and surrounding regions. You will help support the company's construction technology and digital product offering, including machine guidance and control solutions for excavators and dozers, smart construction and digital site technologies, and fleet management systems. The role is based at the Wacol office, with travel across Queensland and northern New South Wales and on-site customer support.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support to internal teams and customers, guiding them through product demonstrations, delivery, handover, system setup, training and ongoing field support.
• Serve as the main technical liaison between customers, sales, service teams and Komatsu on construction technology solutions.
• Support the sales process through technical discussions, solution guidance and customer workflow alignment.
• Help internal teams with machine build, setup, calibration and field implementation of technology systems.
• Maintain strong relationships across branches and customer sites, supporting adoption, performance and issue resolution.
• Keep up product knowledge through testing, proof of concept activity and regular communication with the wider team.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in construction technology, machine guidance, machine control, surveying or related technical field support roles.
• A trade qualification with relevant industry experience as a Field Service Technician is advantageous.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage travel and coordinate priorities in a busy, fast-paced role.
• Commitment to HSE, with safe behaviour and HSE compliance at all times.

Required skills

• Demonstrated ability to support, troubleshoot and explain digital site systems or technology-enabled equipment.
• Ability to analyse and troubleshoot technical system issues and provide practical solutions for customers and internal stakeholders.
• Desirable: experience with Topcon, Trimble, Leica or similar construction technology platforms.
• Familiarity with customer workflows in civil construction, earthmoving or related environments is highly regarded.
• Strong relationship-building and clear communication with customers, sales, service teams and peers.
