Technical Trainer

About the role

As a Technical Trainer based in Melbourne you will deliver curriculum, new‑model and performance‑improvement training to Ford technicians across the dealer network in Australia and New Zealand. You will support dealers in planning and executing technical training programmes and ensure training records are kept up‑to‑date.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Curriculum, New Model (NMT) and Performance Improvement training, as well as FRTFT courses, to meet Net Promoter Score targets.
• Review and adapt technical training materials to maintain high‑quality course content.
• Prepare classrooms, work bays, teaching aids, tools, equipment and training vehicles before each session.
• Provide in‑depth instruction on Ford vehicle systems – engines, transmissions, electrical, brakes, suspension and steering – using the IMG curriculum.
• Conduct hands‑on demonstrations, practical exercises and update attendance and completion data in the STARS Learning Management System.

Required profile

• Training certification and/or prior experience in technical training.
• Proficiency with automotive diagnostic tools, software and equipment.
• Full Australian driver’s licence.
• Ability to build relationships with technicians and dealers.

Required skills

• Use of automotive diagnostic tools and diagnostic software.
• Knowledge of Ford vehicle systems (engines, transmissions, electrical, brakes, suspension, steering).
• Experience with the STARS Learning Management System.
