Tactical Opportunities Analyst

About the role

Tactical Opportunities (Tac Opps) is Blackstone's opportunistic investment platform, investing globally across asset classes, industries and geographies. The Tac Opps team in Sydney works with the investment team on sourcing, due diligence and executing investment opportunities. The role suits someone with experience in financial analysis and research who is resourceful, thorough, independent, curious and able to multi-task.

Key responsibilities

• Build complex financial and valuation models
• Assist in preparing investment memorandums for the investment committee
• Perform due diligence and financial analysis across a wide range of asset classes, business types and investment types (equity, preferred equity, minority and control)
• Research companies, industries and asset classes
• Interview industry experts and management teams
• Assist in executing transactions
• Monitor and drive further value on existing portfolio companies

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of investment banking, private equity or management consulting experience
• Ability to understand business drivers and the market
• Excellent report writing skills
• Ability to learn quickly, work independently and pay close attention to detail
• Highly motivated, entrepreneurial and a team player
